Chuck Norris is always considered as one the iconic legends of martial arts, not only as an actor but as a real martial artist. Norris started his journey in  martial arts at the age of eighteen when he joined  United States Air Force, and wend to South Korea.

At the time he practiced Tang Soo Do under a Korean master, and few years later, Chuck has founded his own martial art and called it Chun Kuk Do.

Even though Chuck Norris learned a style considered as Taekwondo, but he competed in Karate competitions, which is so normal because at the time Karate competition was already very famous. In 50s, 60s and early 70s the Taekwondo world championships did not start yet. (The first World Taekwondo championships started in 1973 while the ITF Taekwondo Championships was held in 1974).

During the 60s, the Tang Soo Do practitioners were competing in Karate competitions,. Tang Soo Do is the other name of the Korean karate, and even GM Jhoon Rhee was teaching Tang Soo Do till he received a message from the General Choi to use the term Taekwondo.

Let's go back to Chuck Norris :)

This great martial artist competed in Karate competitions against many talented fighters including Joe Lewis.

Chuck Norris is a big influencer to millions of people and the amazing part is that he is healthy at his age, and he keeps surprising us and proving that the age is really a number.

Here is the Chun Kuk Do's code of Honor and rules to live by:

I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.

I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.

I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family.

I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.

If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.

I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.

I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness.

I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.

I will always remain loyal to my God, my country, family and my friends.

I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country and myself.

It is nice to that we have found a new video of Cuck Norris showing his skills of boxing at the age of 81 years young, and we thought to share it with you :)

    1. That's how it is pronounced in Korea.

    2. But Chuck Norris is not Korean, and calling him Cuck Norris is incredibly disrespectful. A Cuck, in America is a Husband or Boyfriend who like to share his wife with other men while he remains submissive to her wishes.

GM Norris should receive more respect than that.

We don't change people's names to suit ourselves. Even if you can't pronounce it right, at least spell it right.

  3. I don't know that I agree with the explanation about Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do. I studied TKD while stationed in Korea in 1982-3 and visited a TSD dojo. It was explained to me that TSD is the combat version of TKD whereas, TKD was derived from TSD but is only intended for tournament fighting.

This was widespread knowledge in South Korea back then. By that time, TKD was an Olympic sport and school children, esp. boys, all studied TKD from the time they started school and most of not all, achieved black belt status by the time they graduated high school.

A lot of other martial arts were available and popular in South Korea at that time as well and duels between masters from different schools as well as best fighters among mafias were commonplace and much more serious such as matters of life and death ☠️ in South Korea than they are in the United States.
