Cynthia Rothrock is a well known American actress in martial arts movies since the 1980s, and she was known for her good flexibility and good action scenes. She was an inspiration for many young martial artists at that era, especially that the source of martial arts knowledge was very little and we only had paper magazines, video training documentaries, and all that was not easy to get, and only few people have enough money to get magazines or video tapes. At the time many martial arts enthusiasts are learning techniques from martial arts movies, and sometimes we were trying to do techniques we were watching including those made by the help of the special effects, and the result of this was painful in general :)

Cynthia Rothrok is 64 years old now, she was born on March 8, 1957 in Wilmington, She started martial arts at the age of 13 (1970), after 13 years she became a member on Ernie Reyes demonstration Team at the age of 26 years old.

Cynthia Rothrok did not practice one martial art but she did several styles, and she hold black belts in several styles, She holds 8th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, a Black Belt in Taekwondo, a Black belt in Karate, a Black Belt in Eagle Claw, a Black Belt in Wu Shu, a Black Belt in Northern Shaolin and a Black Belt in Pai Lum Tao Kung Fu.

Cynthia has a big record of 72  films of martial arts since she started her carrier in the cinema in 1985.

Probably many people know only about Cynthia martial arts movies and they do not know about her competitions days, and in this article we are going to highlight her days of competition a bit.

Cynthia competed in forms (Poomsae in Taekwondo), even though she has the rank of an 8th Dan grand master in Taekwondo (Tang Soo Doo), but Cynthia competed in Kung Fu Wu Shu, and She was a five times World Champion in forms and weapons between 1981 and 1985. By watching some of her videos and footages during the competition, you would notice her good skill and impressive performance. most of those footages are not high quality videos but they show the performance.
