This is a very nice initiative to organize this amazing Taekwondo meeting between these two former fighters and grand masters.
They first met each other in the Welter Final during the 7th World Taekwondo Championships in 1985 and GM Kook Hyun Jung (KOR) won the Gold medal against GM Metin Sahin.
The Taekwondo Championships and tournaments during that era were without helmets, gloves, socks..
In  the friendly meeting held in 2019, the two grand masters still look great, GM Kook is still very flexible  and also a good kicker, and GM Metin is not flexible as the Korean but still a good kicker too.
Lets introduce the the two champions before watching the new video (2019) and the old full video of the world championships (1985).
Kook Hyun Jung was recently named as Korea's All-Time Best World and Olympic Taekwondo Champion by the same organization. A professor at the National Sports University of Korea he made history by becoming the first person to win 4 World Titles as well as a gold medal at the 1988 Olympic Games.
Metin Şahin (born January 10, 1963 in Konya, Turkey) is a European champion Turkish former Taekwondo practitioner, who serves as the president of the Turkey Taekwondo Federation since 2003.
He began with Taekwondo in 1975 and in 1982 Şahin became Turkish champion, and was selected to the national team the next year. He served several years as the captain of the national team. Between 1984 and 1994 he competed at world and European championships, and represented Turkey at two Pre Olympic Games.
In 1995, 1986 and 1991 he was honored "Sportsperson of the Year" by the Turkish media.
Şahin was elected in November 2003 president of the Turkey Taekwondo Federation. In August 2004 he became a board member of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). The next year he was re-elected to the board, and was appointed chairman of the youth commission of the WTF. In October 2007, he was elected to the board of European Taekwondo Union (ETU), where he presides the Balkan countries commission.
After 34 years of their World Taekwondo Championships, the two grand masters met again for a formal sparring in 2019.
It is really interesting when people never quit and it is also impressive to see people in their mid fifties or sixties and still have the basic sparring techniques.
Here is a video that includes a footage from the World Taekwondo championships 1985 and the new friendly sparring 2019.
