The worst Taekwondo 5th Dan test ever 🤦‍♂️

Won Kuk Lee founded Chung Do Kwan (“Blue Wave School”) in 1944 after studying some forms of Korean martial arts and Karate under G.GM Gechin Funakushi.

Lee Won Kuk was succeeded by Master Duk Sung Son in 1959. GM Son moved to New York in 1963 and established the World Martial arts Association and among his students Michael T. Delay who started training under him in 60s.
The video we have today is about a 5th Dan test conducted by this school who belongs to Chun Do Kwan  school under Michael T. Delay.

The students here look like they are working so hard to be bad, and their performance has nothing to be proud of, and if we try to find an excuse for them we will find nothing, especially that all of them are the same.
We should not blame them for this performance because it seems that they have been trained to bad like this, but we should blame their master for taking the martial art to this shameful level.

Chung Do Kwan is a good martial art and this video is not representing the art, but only representing the school they belong to.
lets watch this video and feel free to share your opinion about these black belts

  4. Ok first of all the belt dont mean anything except to hold your pants up. Their techniques wow really. Its just look like a bunch of people who paid to acquire a belt and a Gi. The instructor should be ashamed of himself or herself. I seen better performances. There is more to any martial arts and to understand it and learn it and the concept of it come on people open your eyes. Even martial artist today and the ones been gone would be like what?

  5. This's would be a possible yellow belt test and I might even fail them at that for the roundhouse kicks! I could not believe the techniques and sloppiness that was being demonstrated it was an embarrassment to their style and the history of their style! I would like to see the head instructor get out there and demonstrate some kumotae!

  12. They must have learned this at a YMCA or gym. Very hard to believe they actually learned this from a higher belt. They must teach themselves.

  13. I've been in taekwondo for over 40 years this is ridiculous, I blame the instructor and the school for representing taekwondo like this

  16. Looks like choreographed incompetence

  17. I don't know why everyone is so hard on these guys. It takes a lot of dedication to be that good at not hitting anyone or doing any martial arts in a martial arts test. That's like Ali level of avoiding martial arts. I dare you to try and duplicate this majestic not-martial-arts.

  18. Is this some sort of first round coriograph by completely untrained people?... I hate to say it but I would take most any of my students against that class. Very sloppy if ya ask me

  19. C est une ceinture blanche avec beaucoup de $ en dessous de la table

  20. I've got to say, I'm more disappointed in the performance of "martial artists" in these comments than I am in those students...

  21. It is a real shame that a lot of Martial Arts Schools are so commercialized that all they care about is making that money instead of teaching the proper form and technique.

  22. I encourage these students to keep practicing and to expose themselves to other styles or teachers of tae kwon do as they are all related. 5th dan in any style requires years of dedicated focus and training and each school determines their own levels of competence. Frankly I prefer traditional style but have been fortunate to have been exposed to many. If it werent for the "business" aspect of the art I would likely still be involved in the style. I remember failing an entire group of talented black belts once for not being up to par during a black belt advancment examination, though my decision was overturned due to the financial consequnces for the school.

  23. We would never be given a point against our opponent if we didn't use correct form. Most of the newer styles throw form completely out the window when kumete starts.

  24. OMFG, what did I just watch? Two issues, Number 1 some poor misguided people are paying good money and giving up their time to do this, Number 2 heaven forbid they should ever have to use this mess to defend themselves.... The guys can't even do a back kick without falling over FFS............

  25. The larger question is why would anyone bother to share this?

  26. hORSE shIT! lol WHAT A JOKE....

  28. pretty sad, embarrassing actually

  29. Are they in real hurry to get somewhere?

  30. My own students would go too fast. It must have been to impress. It did not. Even the best can look sloppy if they go too fast. I have also seen, kicks only sparring during gradings. There is insufficient showing in the video to make an informed comment.

  31. I hope the grade was not recognised by kukkiwon. This needed the benny hill soundtrack. Disgusting.

  34. Is this a joke, their skills are hideous and embarrassing. They definitely give martial arts a bad name. Kicks were sloppy and absolutely no hand control.

  35. I train and teach with the Chung Do Kwan association in the mid-west. Our lineage is attached to Won Kuk Lee, but not Duk Son Sung. Master Yong-Taek Chung trained under Won Kuk Lee, and opened his first American school in Kansas City, MO. Master Chung maintained a high level of technical efficacy and a style of teaching that created highly skilled and tough martial artists. This was kept in tact by our current teacher Master David Blevins. Not all Chung Do Kwan martial arts schools have been left with this legacy type of legacy as the video above shows.

  37. Spent 7 years training in chung do Kwan. White belts maybe in these videos.

  38. I do not think this is a Chung Do Kwan school. How they placed their hands to their side in attention stance looks more ITF. They do not practice traditional Chung Do Kwan stretching. None of these black belts could not kick higher then their waist. I might be wrong, but I believe this school mainly practices #1 side kicks which again is not a Chung Do Kwan side kick. Chung Do Kwan practices #2 side kicks mainly.

  39. This is not taekwondo. It's some bullshit karate mcdojo. This clip has been doing the rounds for years. If you're going to post something up, at least get your facts correct.
