A new star is born The second day of Tokyo Olympic games made a new Taekwondo star. Ulugbek Rashitov is ayoung Taekwondo athlete coming from Uzbekistan aged only of 19 years old (born 23 March 2002). Before joining the senior competition, Rashitov won some big competitions, He won two gold medals in the Asian Junior championships, the first in Atyrau under 45 kg (2017) and the second in Amman under 55 kg (2019) . He won a bronze medal in 2018 during the World Junior Championships held in Hammamet (51 kg), Silver in Youth World games 2018 (48 kg), A gold in Military world games 2019 (58 kg). The second day of Tokyo Olympic games was a good day for Rashitov.
He won his first fight against the Malian Fofana (38 - 17), his second against the Korean Daehoon Lee (21 - 19), won his third against the Iranian Husseini (34 - 22), won his 4th against the Bosnian Husic (28 - 5), and his final against the British Sinden (34 - 29). It is really a good beginning for any Taekwondo athlete to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 19, but it is also a huge responsibility to stay on the top. Unfortunately the gold medalist of Rio Olympics could not compete in this one, and probably it would be more entertaining if the Jordanian Abu Ghaush is present but we do know that he had many issues in his country then jailed and could not participate in any event.  Also we can see that the level of some elite athletes has decreased a bit such as Jaouad Achab and also Daehoon Lee. Let's watch this short video of Rashitov of this head kick.
