Poomsae fail landing 🤷‍♂️

This is the first time to post about poomsae fails because it is not happening much.

Here we can see this athlete is performing well, but maybe integrating many gymnastics and acrobatics increased the chance of failing (fail landing).
The question is: do we need gymnastics in the poomsae??

Let's watch this video 👇

  1. She got back up and didn't quit. Good for her!

  2. Personally, I don't see why we need gymnastics. The idea of patterns is to practise and demonstrate combinations of attack and defence etc. A series of handsprings and flips is the stuff of movies, not fighting.

    1. Really? Because I seem to recall a number of fights in MMA with flip kicks and cage run kicks resulting in knock outs.

  4. I thought she did her best after doing a lot of practice. She was just nervous during this competition. She will grow up after joining a lot of competitions. Don't give up. You have many supports from your home country. Trust yourself you can do it and finish it. We will root for you.
    Cheers!

  6. I gather, the knockers will be able to demonstrate with far better technique. It is only in the trying, that we succeed. I believe she did extremely well .

    1. I don't see it as a mattter of her agility and athleticism (and she's pretty good), I see it as a big question mark about what TKD and Poomsae are. A lot of those strikes demonstrated little power and were just dance moves. Why not just add some K-Pop and give points for interpretation.

  7. Wu Shu in a dobok. No power to the strikes. Sorry- fair play to the lass for her athleticism but why not just wear a leotard and do gymnastics?
