The worst board breaking demonstration ever😳

Talking about Taekwondo balck belts is always a big topic.
Some instructors are destroying the phenominal image of Taekwondo as a real martial art.
Many of black belts are not even mastering the basics of the art, therefore, they can not be good teachers.

Good instructors are those who can explain and demonstrate the art. In this video, the demonstrative part does not exist. The person who seems to be an instructor has big issues to break those boards using his punches and kicks.

  2. Failing to break can be due to a number of factors obviously poor technique may he a main part however how the boards are held, if they are damp, how they are cut etc. There is a skill to breaking boards and if you have never been shown how to do it properly the chances of breaking are seriously reduced. Especially if they are kicking to and not through the board.

  4. Maybe a few people on this page could learn to spell "balck" properly.

One or two people commenting could learn to write properly in English before slagging somebody off for having a bad day.

  6. After seeing that demo. I feel bad for not only the “Hubei” or junior student who got hit by the flying wood, probably put off from training if not blinded. But I also feel sorry for the practitioner student conducting the demonstration that embarrassed himself. Where was his Seniors to talk him through the break. Obviously, he didn’t prove to himself prior to doing the demonstration, that he could do the break. And doing the break a year ago or along time ago just doesn’t mean he’s going to be successful. Poor preparation, leads to poor technique, poor technique leads to lack of breaking power. I humbly say, I’m not sure if my comment is deemed relevant as I am not a Taekwondo student, but rather a Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan student.

  7. His strikes are crappy, but a single board is not very hard to break, even with crappy strikes. I wonder if the boards got wet. As a 2nd degree black belt, I have seen high ranking guys who can palm strike through 6-7 boards struggle to get through 2-3 boards that got wet while being stored for an outdoors demo. That water seems to turn wood into plastic! lol.

  8. Biggest fail issue is the holders, you can't break a board that is not held in place. Holders should in a solid long stance with their arms locked so that the board is held firmly at strike. I would have to consider any TKD school that did not have a black belt class and senior students, Sam Buh Nim, to be supporting the instructor. That said, he clearly pulls his punches back at impact, not punching through the board, and who in the hell would even try to break with shoes on. It's not super clear in the recording but it also "looks" like the board grain is not in the right orientation for the breaks either.. which does further sadly underline that this is not a qualified experienced instructor and most likely runs more of a day care that a do jang...

  9. He is just "snapping" on the surface. Like a controled karate punch/kicks. He didn't follow through with his weight. Plus the board was held up at a higher angle. Im not judging him as a coach, but he is definitely bad in demos.
