After recently facing a sexual assault civil suit that resulted in nearly $260,000 in damages (pending appeal), Conor McGregor is back in court in Dublin for a new lawsuit seeking $8 million in damages. The former UFC two-division champion, McGregor, is set to appear in Dublin's High Court in January to address questions surrounding his strained relationship with former UFC featherweight, Artem Lobov, who has been involved in legal disputes with McGregor in the past.

Artem Lobov, also known as the "Russian Hammer," is suing McGregor over the creation of Proper 12 Irish Whiskey, which played a significant role in McGregor's financial success. Lobov claims that the idea for the whiskey was originally his and, therefore, he should be entitled to compensation for his contributions. Lobov detailed his involvement in the creation of Proper 12, explaining how he introduced McGregor to the potential of Irish whiskey and put together a deal with a top drink distribution company in Ireland.
Lobov stated that he researched various whiskey distilleries, put together a comprehensive deal, and presented it to McGregor, emphasizing the significant financial potential of the endeavor. McGregor eventually switched from promoting vodka to Irish whiskey, a decision influenced by Lobov according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit, which is not being heard by a jury, could result in McGregor facing an $8 million payout if Lobov prevails. Lobov claims that he made a verbal agreement with McGregor and dedicated significant time and effort to the success of Proper 12, without receiving adequate compensation for his role in the venture. Despite McGregor's sale of Proper 12 in 2021, which reportedly earned him around $600 million, Lobov alleges that he did not receive any financial benefit from the deal.
Whether Lobov will be awarded financial compensation for his involvement in the creation and success of Proper 12 remains uncertain. McGregor and Lobov's legal battle adds another chapter to the ongoing legal challenges faced by the UFC personalities. McGregor's legal troubles continue to mount, with the upcoming court proceedings shedding light on the complexities of his relationships within the MMA world.
