The job of Taekwondo referees can not be always easy as some would think, because it requires knowledge, fitness, fast reactions, and quick decisions..
The referee is always close to both fighters in the ring, so that they can see everything happening during the fight.
Their mission becomes so hard in high level competitions where small details matter, and one wrong decision can change the winner in the fight.
In this video it is not about what we have mentioned above :) The intervention of the referee here was not successful, it was done in the wrong time, especially that the fighter could not see the referee while performing a spinning back kick.
Therefore, the fighter knocked down the referee instead of his opponent.
