12000 Taekwondo dojang stopped instructing Taekwondo
Korea’s Taekwondo Dojangs are suffering severely from the coronavirus
Korea’s Taekwondo Dojangs are suffering severely from the outbreak of the coronavirus even though Korea government controls the virus effectively. The virus is very contagious so the all schools are closed until the virus is alleviated.
All Korean Taekwondo Dojangs, with a number of 12,000 Dojangs have to stop instructing Taekwondo until the situation gets better. In order to get over the worst situation ever, most local associations are giving cash or hand cleaner to each member’s Dojangs.
Thanks to the efforts of the Korean government and the people, Korea is slowing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
Unfortunately, the virus is spreading rapidly around the world, so please refer to what Korea experienced.
The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11 declared COVID-19 a pandemic, pointing to the over 118,000 cases of the coronavirus illness in over 110 countries.
According to the basic protective measures by the WHO, firstly “wash your hands frequently,” secondly, “maintain social distancing,” thirdly, “avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth,” fourthly, “practice respiratory hygiene,” fifthly, “If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early,” and lastly “stay informed and follow advice given by your healthcare provider.”
As of March 13, Korea, with a population of 50 million, has not outright restricted the movement of its citizens and has instead focused on aggressively monitoring for infections. More than 7,900 cases and 66 deaths have been reported.
More than 235,000 people have been tested, and health officials carefully track down people who may have symptoms, testing more than 10,000 people each day. The government even opened drive-through testing centers.
