New Acting President of the Kukkiwon

Choi Young-Ryul was appointed as new acting president until a new president is elected under the new Articles of the Kukkiwon was approved by the Kukkiwon board meeting on 25 April 2019.

According to New Articles of the Kukkiwon, New Kukkiwon President will be elected by the President Election Committee.
The election committee will be composed of the following; WT-1, KTA-1, TPF-1, Korea Province or city Taekwondo body-2, Kukkiwon 9th Dan Federation-1, Taekwondo Association for the Disabled-1, 5 Continent’s Unions-20, Korea Domestic Taekwondo Master-35, Foreign Taekwondo Master-5, Kukkiwon staff-1, Kukkiwon Dispatched Master-1.

New Kukkiwon board members will be elected by the Board Recommendation Committee. If the Board Recommendation Committee will select the candidates for a double vote, the Kukkiwon Board will elect the new members. The number of board shall be 20 or more and 30 or less.

New Acting President the youngest national representative of Korea Taekwondo national team and a professor at the Taekwondo department of Kyunghee University and the dean of the College of Physical Education at Kyunghee University in 2009.
