Not everybody possess motivation and self confidence in abundance. The syllabus needed to pass each stage requires both mental and physical tests. And as the student progresses, each stage gets more and more challenging. What I love about the grading system of ITF TKD is that it taught me not to give up easily and that you can achieve your goals by being discipline, consistent and not shy to work hard. For me and a lot of my fellow TKD students the grading/test system is not a joke. I do not know what you mean by time allocation. There is a guidance that you should aim for which is the minimum. For example, a beginner can grade/test for their first grade (yellow tag) after they have been training for 3 months, 3x per week. If they only train once per week then the wait is 6 months. For black belt 1st degree to grade to 2nd degree they must wait a minimum 1 year if they train 3 x per week or more. If they train once per week then the wait is 2 years. These are only a guide and only the students must decide once they've trained the minimum time required to grade. If they feel they need more time then they are encourage to train more until they feel confident in themselves to grade/test. <br />"That's exactly why TKD dojo are called McBelt Factories." <br />Surely you do not expect the master examiners to do it for free. When you take your driving test did you pay nothing???R Recenteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18055134245071749844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339763048560497062.post-52360766034038943692021-07-06T14:55:21.602-07:002021-07-06T14:55:21.602-07:00Not all though, I've been to both terrible and...Not all though, I've been to both terrible and good schools om Norway. I get your point, but some actually follow the traditional way with hard work, instead of the "here's your money, where's my belt" mentality. I could have promoted for my 3rd Dan last summer, but skipped it since I lacked training due to Covid, and my Master agreed since we follow quality over quantity. BUt yes, back to your pont. I DO agree with you, to some extent.Kimnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339763048560497062.post-87663781880483483302020-09-30T21:27:28.655-07:002020-09-30T21:27:28.655-07:00What is written on his shirt?

I have earned a Black Belt in Judo and Brown Belt in Jujitsu. You only get promoted when you are ready. There is no time alocation.
